Giving Criteria

The McGinty Family Foundation provides grants to improve the academic achievement of students in the State of Ohio public schools, as well as private primary and secondary education institutions in all subject areas. The proposed work should engage students in critical thinking and problem-solving that deepens their knowledge of standards-based subject matter. Additionally, the work should help students develop habits of inquiry, self-directed learning, and critical reflection.

Grant funds may be used for resource materials, supplies, equipment, and software. Although some funds may be allocated to support professional development necessary for project implementation, the majority of grant funds must be spent on materials or educational experiences for students.

As you might expect, we receive more requests each year than we are able to fund with our limited resources. As a result, we cannot fund proposals that do not align with our current programming framework and guidelines.
